RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ Makes Quiet Exit, ‘Gifted Man’, ‘Grimm’, ‘Supernatural’ & ‘Nikita’ Down (Deadline Hollywood)
ABC's reality veteran _Extreme Makeover: Home Edition_ wrapped its nine-season
run last night with little fanfare. The final 2 regular episodes of the series
(it will continue its presence on ABC with specials) drew a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and
6 million total viewers at 8 PM and a 1.7/5, 10.5 million at 9 PM. That was in
line with last week's 1.4 and 1.6 demo ratings, though in total viewers the 9
PM series finale posted _EM: Home Edition_'s most watched episode on Friday.
Friday was mostly a flat and down night with one major exception. ABC's
_20/20_ (1.7/5, 5.9 million) shot up 31% in 18-49 from last week with an
episode featuring stories on the online free sperm market and female college
students working as escorts to pay their tuition as well as an interview with
Madonna. It helped ABC (1.6/5, 6 million) tie CBS (1.6/5, 10.3 million) for
No.1 among adults 18-49. CBS won outright in total viewers. After an
encouraging ratings uptick last week, CBS' _A Gifted Man_ (1.3/4, 8.8 million)
slipped again, down 13% in 18-49._ CSI: NY_ (1.7/5, 10.5 million) dropped a
tenth, while _Blue Bloods_ (1.8/5, 11.9 million) ...
